What We Know About the 2023 HR-V

Brand New Design

Both inside and out, the 2023 Honda HR-V will boast a brand-new redesign. Replacing the aging design that debuted in 2014, the new HR-V is anticipated to be larger than the newer European hybrid counterpart, and will be designed on the 2022 Civic’s platform. Using the same platform from the all-new Civic, the HR-V will likely offer similar performance to the Civic model lineup.

Performance

It’s anticipated that the HR-V's powertrain will also be identical to the 2022 Civic's, with both the 158-hp naturally aspirated 2.0-liter and 180-hp turbo 1.5-liter inline-four engine options likely. Like the European model, there will likely be a hybrid option available as well to compliment either front- or all-wheel drive options, along with a CVT automatic transmission. Any of these combinations will be an upgrade over the outgoing HR-V's current 1.8-liter inline-four with just 141 horsepower.
