Performance
Power Match-Up
Every standard version of the 2025 Honda CR-V uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, making 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. Nissan customers choosing the current Rogue will get a similar engine with a similar output.
Fuel Economy
Honda has made front- and all-wheel drive versions of the 2025 CR-V available. Both versions return some of the strongest fuel economy scores in their class. The 2025 Rogue is only available with front-wheel drive, posting 8.4 L/100 km in the city and 6.7 L/100 km on the highway.
Design
Passenger Space
While both SUVs have two rows of space and room for five passengers, the 2025 Honda CR-V is able to offer more legroom than its Mazda rival. Legroom measurements for each SUV are pretty equal for the front passengers. People sitting in the rear seat of the CR-V will have more room to stretch their legs than people sitting in the rear of the CX-5.
Cargo Volume
Every SUV on the road today is judged on its ability to adapt to the changing needs of the driver. When people are sitting in the backseat of the current CR-V there will still be 1,113 litres of cargo volume. Folding the seats down will make up to 2,166 litres available. Both configurations in the CX-5 can’t measure up.
Technology
Device Connectivity
Honda and Mazda provide owners of their respective SUVs with a device-compatible infotainment system. Wireless and wired connectivity to the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites of applications is available on some versions of both the 2025 CR-V and 2025 CX-5.
Safety
Leveraging technology to prevent collisions is the name of the game for this year’s versions of the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. The driver and their passengers in the 2025 CR-V will be protected by the Honda Sensing® system which is comprised of:
- Lane Keeping Assist System
- Forward Collision Warning System
- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Lane Departure Warning System
- Road Departure Mitigation System
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
