What’s the Difference Between the Honda CR-V Hybrid and Honda Prologue?

Several Cambridge Centre Honda customers have already chosen the Honda CR-V Hybrid, but in the near future, another all-electric model, the Honda Prologue, will be available at our showroom. How Much Interior Space is Available?

If you were to look at the 2024 versions of the Honda CR-V Hybrid and Honda Prologue side-by-side, it might be difficult to tell how they are different. Both feature two rows of seats that can comfortably fit up to five passengers. However, the 2024 CR-V Hybrid is larger and offers more cargo volume to owners.

When the rear seats in the CR-V Hybrid are up and ready for passengers, there will be 1,028 litres of cargo volume in the back. Folding the seats down will expand the available area to 2,030 litres. By no stretch is the Prologue lacking cargo space; its slimmer dimensions are meant to help its all-electric performance. A 2024 Prologue offers 714 litres of cargo volume behind the rear seat when passengers are in place. Up to 1,634 litres are available when the EV crossover lays down its rear seats.

CR-V Hybrid vs. Prologue Winter Handling Features

Hybrid and EV technology is more than just a way to cut down on trips to the gas station. It also integrates with existing features that Canadian drivers have come to expect their vehicles to offer. A competent all-wheel drive system is one that we hear lots of requests for. Both the latest versions of the CR-V Hybrid and Prologue EV crossover SUV come equipped with our manufacturing partner’s well-respected all-wheel drive system — giving drivers confidence on less-than-ideal road conditions.

Which Hybrid/EV SUV Offers Better Performance?

The Honda CR-V Hybrid uses a traditional gas-powered engine attached to electric motors to move. On the other hand, the Honda Prologue employs a powerful electric motor that gets its energy from onboard batteries. In a head-to-head performance comparison, the Prologue can make 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque. The CR-V EX-L Hybrid tops out at 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the Prologue can handle some light, short-range towing duties when properly equipped.

Both vehicles will be a great asset to anyone who chooses the right one to meet their needs. Make an appointment with a Cambridge Centre Honda product expert today if you would like to do some in-person comparison shopping.
