Interior Space

With the Civic and Accord, you don’t need a measuring tape to see that the Civic is more compact compared to the mid-size Accord. With the smaller body design, the 2023 Civic has slightly less passenger room and cargo space than the Accord. The Civic offers 99 cubic feet of passenger volume, and 14.8 cubic feet of cargo room. The Accord offers drivers slightly more space, 105.6 cubic feet of passenger and 16.7 cu.ft. of cargo space. However, the upcoming Civic Hatchback will offer greater cargo space than the Accord, if drivers prefer.

Performance

The Civic offers the incredibly fun and capable standard 2.0L Direct-Inject VTEC 4 Cylinder engine, pushing out 158hp. The Accord on the other hand comes standard with the 1.5L Direct-Inject VTEC Turbocharged 4-Cylinder engine, offering 192hp to power the larger frame. At their base trim levels, the Civic offers 6.9L/100km combined highway efficiency, while the Accord delivers slightly higher 7.2L/100km, although that value climbs significantly on the higher trim options.

Overview

Overall, both the Civic and Accord are incredibly popular and capable sedans designed to thrive in Canadian cities year-round. There’s a reason why you see so many Accords and Civics still on the roads today, as their popularity remains strong throughout the years for good reason. You truly can’t go wrong with either of these capable sedans.
